On Wednesday the 2nd of Sept 2010 some of the longest wave periods predicted all year arrived on the Cornish coast. This was then combined with 2 other things:- an offshore breeze and warm summer sunshine!
A rare sight in the UK – but for a while Fistral beach in Newquay and many othr local spots up the North Cornish coast were sculpted by nature into a surfers dream.
By early morning some of the UK’s top surfers entered the water to make the most of the waves, and http://www.newquaysurfer.org caught some great stills that day.
